She is the Director of Business Development at the Magdi Yacoub Heart Foundation. She has extensive experience in the fields of sustainable development and healthcare policy.
Throughout her career, Ms. Tawakol has worked with orphaned children, Sudanese and Syrian refugees, and many with no access to basic healthcare and education. Alongside her work in the Egyptian community as facilitated through the Foundation’s work, Ms. Tawakol has been involved in the planning and structuring of the world-renowned Aswan Heart Centre, guiding the Executive Committee of the Board of Trustees.
A longstanding and passionate supporter of healthcare accessibility, Ms. Tawakol holds a master’s in health policy from Imperial College London. She is also a member of the Clinton Global Initiative ‘Commit to Action’ team, sits on the board of the Marwa Fayed Toy Run Foundation, and regularly volunteers her time and service to numerous policy-focused humanitarian organizations.
