She is a graduate of French catholic College De La Mere de Dieu, received her bachelor of pharmacy from Cairo University and her Ph.D. in technology health policy from Swansea University, Wales
Dr. May was elected in October 2015 to represent the district of Giza as an independent. She is was elected as Egypt’s youngest ever Chair of the Communication & Information Technology Committee in the Egyptian House Of Representatives, the same one which she now serves as deputy chair.
She was the Co-Founder & CEO of TMA Education Management, Investment & Development. TMA is the education company of the family group and is the first in Egypt to be awarded the integrated quality management system.
She served as the Academic Advisor and International Relations Officer of the High Institute for Specific Studies HISS a family-owned educational bachelor granting institution with over 15 000 students established in 1994. May founded and chairs the CSR arm of the group; People Development Foundation PDF to promote youth employability, entrepreneurship, innovation, and empowerment.
She founded and is a board member of the Egyptian Federation for Electronic Games EFEG in 2010 which became a member of the International Electronic Sports Federation IeSF. ElBatran acts as Vice President of the Middle East Council for Small Business and Entrepreneurship MCSBE, board member of the Egyptian Red Crescent, served on the executive board as treasurer and board member of the Egyptian Junior Business Association EJB.
